Egypt - an attractive market in MEA
Egypt is a major industrial country in North Africa and the biggest country in the Arab world, with a population of more than 100 million in 2020.
It aspires to become one of the 30 strongest economies in the world by 2030. With its 2030 industry development strategy, it targets to increase the contribution of the industry sector to the GDP from 17% to 21%.
The MENA chemical and pharma industry is witnessing a steady growth and is expected to continuously drive demand for industrial packaging and processing technology. Apart from that, Egypt imports large amounts of food packaging and rubber and plastic machinery. The top five countries exporting rubber and plastic machinery to Egypt in 2020 were China, Germany, Italy, Austria, and Türkiye.
