Introducing the SAVE FOOD DESIGN AWARD / SUSTAINABILITY DESIGN AWARDS

The SAVE FOOD Initiative is dedicated to addressing one of the world's most critical challenges: food loss and waste. The packaging and processing sector plays a crucial role in mitigating food loss and waste.

As a valued member of this industry, you have a hands-on role to play! Together, we work tirelessly in processing and packaging to rescue and conserve food and make a positive impact on the environment.

As a testament to our commitment, the SAVE FOOD Initiative is thrilled to announce the inauguration of the SAVE FOOD DESIGN AWARD and SUSTAINABILITY DESIGN AWARD, hosted for the very first time at pacprocess MEA 2023 in Cairo from 12 to 14 December 2023.

In collaboration with our esteemed partners, including WPO, FAO, UNIDO, interpack alliance, and Messe Düsseldorf these awards will recognize the top three products/solutions in their respective categories for their exceptional contributions to reducing food loss and waste and for their positive environmental impacts achieved within the processing and packaging sector.

HOW TO APPLY ?

  • Download the application form from here and terms and conditions from here
  • Fill out the form and send it as a PDF file to info@save-food.org within the application period (15 September to 21 November 2023) along with the required information below:
  • Brief description (maximum one DIN A4 page) of the product/solution you are submitting for the award.
  • Contribution to the reduction of food loss and waste or sustainability of the product/solution.
  • Image of the product/solution in JPG format (maximum 5 MB).

PROJECT COMPETITION: SAVE FOOD INITIATIVE

The SAVE FOOD Initiative is promoting a more responsible use of resources along the entire food supply chain and is actively contributing to reducing food loss and waste. As part of a project competition, SAVE FOOD members could hand in their projects that contribute to reducing food loss and waste by 21 September 2023. The winning project will be announced and presented as part of the conference program at pacprocess MEA 2023 and will receive a funding of 20,000.00 EUR.
